Almost summer! I’ve been enjoying the sun in Denmark for the last couple of days but now that it’s cloudy again, I thought I’d share my favorite smoothie bowl recipe that basically brings summer to your breakfast table.
What I love about smoothie bowls is that you can make them different every single day and it is a quick and wonderful way to make use of all the seasonal fruits and greens in your fridge.
Here is what you need:
For the base:
I love berries in my smoothie bowls and freeze them during the summer in order to have enough during the winter. It’s so much cheaper to buy berries when in season and freezing them yourself avoids unnecessary plastic packaging. Tip: For an extra special smoothie bowl, use a ripe mango – you can literally taste the angels singing!
For the toppings
This is the part where you can get creative! I love topping my smoothie bowls raw, freshly rolled oats, roasted hazelnuts, berries, grapes and dried fruits and sometimes, a bit of raw dark chocolate.
