Christmas holidays has always been quite a stressful season for me. It was all about working extra shifts to be able to afford nice presents for everyone I love and writing endless lists of ideas of what to get them.
This year I decided to change my habit and introduce a new tradition of giving experiences.
Since I currently live in Denmark, I don’t get to see my sisters as much as I would like to. I usually compensate with big gifts, which , a few weeks later, end up in their rooms, dusty and unused.
This year I decided to change my habit and introduce a new tradition of giving experiences. I decided to give them my time.
Usually, when I am home for Christmas, there are a million things I have to do before the big day. This year I decided to put my family first and spend time with them instead of worrying and stressing about which gift I could give them.
It was both of my sisters wish to go into the woods and just have a good time, so we put on our rain boots, warm coats and gloves and did exactly that.
My sisters showed me their favorite spots, the place they usually play with their neighbors and the little club house they built.
They showed me their favorite tree to climb on and urged me to try it too.
Well what can I say…..I’ll do everything for my sisters 😉
It was a perfect adventure on a perfect Monday afternoon….
….and definitely to be repeated soon.
