It is starting to get really, really cold in Denmark. I have never really been a fan of the cold which meant that for my birthday, I needed to find an place inside that would keep us warm but was still fun and special.
Fun fact: I was never really a nature kind of person. Plants and animals didn’t interest me all that much and I really was the ultimate consumer, before I started living a Zero Waste lifestyle.
With my change of lifestyle came a change of heart and I developed a deep respect for nature and all the gifts that I was ignoring before and started becoming obsessed with plants.
So naturally, the Botanical Garden in Aarhus seemed to be the perfect place to spend the afternoon in….
…and since boyfriend has never been, he was off to a hopping start.
It was pouring rain, so we spent all of our time in the Tropical Houses in the Botanical Garden and let me tell you, it is magical.
You walk into these houses and feel transported into a different part of the world within seconds.
The humidity, the sounds, the rare plants you get so see there, the butterflies that shamelessly land on your shoulders and photobomb your selfies, are definitely worth a visit.
This afternoon adventure would not be complete with a little pizza lunch snack, which we brought in our a compostable brown paper bag and our reusable napkins while drinking out of our reusable and water bottles.
Best picknick I’ve had in a while.
