Live Zero Waste they said, it will be easy they said.

And while most of the time this is true, there are these unavoidable incidences, where, even if you give and try your best, you just can’t avoid producing trash.

We recently moved to a new apartment and while we managed to move our stuff without producing any trash ( we used what we had and that worked), we moved into an apartment that needed a fresh layer of paint on its walls and some thorough cleaning.

Using our multi-purpose cleaner, we tackled the cleaning part with ease. Where it got hard was finding the right paint. I have yet to find paint that comes in recyclable containers. In the end, we opted for environmentally friendly paint, borrowed brushes and rollers from friends and used our moving boxes and recycled papers to cover the floors.

I am posting this to show that my Zero Waste Journey is not without obstacles and that when I do face a problem that I have not yet managed to solve I don’t beat myself up about it. I’ll get there someday and in the meantime, I will enjoy living in my beautiful, freshly painted apartment with no repentance.
