Homemade Gummy Bears

I am not a candy person. I usually opt for the chips, crackers and cheese first, but because the rest of my family is more on the sweet side, I had to find a recipe that everybody would like and since I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t like gummy bears, I deemed them to be the perfect Mother’s Day treat.

Here is what you need

If you want to play with crazy colours, add some matcha for a crazy green, or turmeric for a bright yellow.

Now to the fun part

Simply whisk the liquid with pectin over low heat, pour into pureed fruit and whisk some more.

Pour the mix into moulds and let them set in the fridge for 15 minutes.

They can be stored in an airtight container for about a week.

Tip for the grown-ups

If you replace the water with vodka or gin, they can be a quick and really nice party favour.
