Baked Cinamom Apples

One reason I love Christmas so much is all the delicious food I get to indulge in.

The thing that I have consistently loved since childhood are bakes apples, and since this recipe is a gluten free, sugar free option I feel very good about sharing this recipe with you!

Here is what you need:

4 apples

1/2 cup of almonds

1/2 cup of hazelnuts

1 tsp. of honey

A pinch of vanilla

A pinch of cinnamon

1/2 cup of honey marzipan ( to make marzipan yourself simply use 2 cups of almond flour, 1 tsp. of vanilla extract and 3-4 tsp. of honey, mix in a blender, cool overnight and voila! )

The first step is to take out the apple core …

Blend the almonds and hazelnuts in a blender until they turn into flour.

Add the marzipan and blend again before adding honey, vanilla and cinnamon to the mix.

Blend some more until you have a nice sticky texture.

Stuff each apple with the stuffing mixture.

Pop into the oven for 15 minutes at 180 C°, done!

I usually serve my baked apples with almond butter and some honey.

To switch it up a bit you could serve the apples with homemade salty caramel sauce, vanilla ice- cream and roasted almonds or homemade oatmeal.

Enjoy!
