A Day at the Aarhus Harbor

For the past few days it has been quite sunny in beautiful Denmark.

Of course I needed to take advantage of that opportunity and headed out
to spend a wonderful day at the Aarhus harbor.

One thing I particularly like about the danish lifestyle is that everything is built to be useful and effective.

You see so many people biking and it’s the most effective and environmentally friendly way to get around town.

In Aarhus there is this brilliant thing called a city bike, which basically works like a shopping cart.

You simply put 20 Krones or 2 Euros in it, it will unlock and you are free to explore the city by bike.

So that is what I did.

First I wanted to go to the Aarhus beach bar for my daily smoothie……

…..and afterwards I went to a beach called Ballehage Strand, which was a little more hidden and less touristy.

It’s quite a long ride by bike but it was well worth it.

After a long day of sunbathing I decided to treat myself to some well deserved ice cream.

I
found this amazing cafe/restaurant right in the city center,
called Suppestegogis,

which not only serves the cities best homemade ice
cream, but it is also made out of organic ingredients.

I had a scoop of hazelnut- and a scoop of chocolate chili ice cream with a dollop of delicious

whipped cream and it was hands down the best ice cream I have ever had!

What is your favorite ice cream flavour ? Leave a comment or tweet me at @thecapitalF using #beach
